In Zhangtian Village (Groups 5 and 6) of Di’an Township, Longde County, Ningxia, residents have long struggled with muddy roads, water that had to be sourced from a neighboring province, and unreliable electricity. Because the area sits on the provincial border, its transportation is limited, pipelines are old, and power lines are overloaded. These problems affect everyday life and also hold back agriculture and animal husbandry.
Longde County has made road, water, and power upgrades a top priority for the people. About 3.175 million yuan was spent to hard‑surface and improve 2.837 km of village road, adding drainage and guardrails at the same time. Around 3.069 million yuan funded a new water‑storage tank, a pump station, and 10.67 km of fresh‑water pipelines, converting 66 household wells and ending the historic reliance on “borrowing water” from the neighboring province.
